The Lockhart/White Family {Halifax Family Photographer}

What a fun afternoon! The Lockhart/White family invited me into their home today, and we had a ball.

No one really LOVES the “say cheese!” pictures, but we all have them…..not this time, we tried to capture real-life…. tickles and giggles, airplanes and story time.

The pleasure was all mine ♥

Are You Expecting? {Halifax Newborn Photographer}

I’m looking for 2-3 Newborns!

If you are an expectant mother, I would love to hear from you. I am waiving my session fees in return for the opportunity to shoot your brand-new bundle of joy! There is no obligation on your part, other than to allow me the opportunity to photograph baby before the age of 2 weeks old! I will come to your home, do a mini photo session and provide you with an online viewing gallery.

If you, or someone you know, would be interested in this opportunity, please contact me at tanyashieldsphotography@gmail.com

The Hardest Thing {Halifax Family Photographer}

Why is it so much easier to properly capture OTHER people’s children? I suppose my own are tired of being guinea pigs, and run the other way as soon as they see mom with the camera out. Poor Madelyn will have to tough it out for a bit yet ♥

My oldest, Kale

My middle son, Conner

My youngest boy, and no longer the baby of the family, Keegan

…and last but not least, our girl Maddy Claire

The Dosman Family {Halifax Child Photographer}

For quite some time now, I’ve wanted to photograph these two little ones….and although Mother Nature did her best to stop us these last couple of weeks, we managed to grab a few good ones today. Have you ever seen more photogenic children?

A Mother’s Request

Sometimes I process images in color, sometimes in black & white. I love both, and think they both have their special merits. The photoshoot I did with the Clarke boys earlier this week (see below) screamed for color, as we still had some of those rich fall tones hanging on for dear life.

I received a lovely email earlier today from the boys’ mother, asking if it were AT ALL possible to do one particular picture in black & white as it had special meaning to her and her family.

Nicole, this is for you.
