Introducing Sara | Halifax Newborn Photographer

Guess who is a proud big sister?!

Mom Kelly told me today that absolutely no pictures have been sent out of little miss Sara, so it is an honor to “introduce” her to their friends and family!

Sara Francesca Battilana

October 8th, 2009 ~ 8:52am ~ 7lb 2oz

I am absolutely certain if you look up “spunk” and “starved” in the dictionary, you will find Sara’s photo. I have never seen such a hungry, awake 9 day old.

I left today after 4.5 hours, covered in pee, spitup and new baby smell…..and I loved every second.

And although we weren’t able to coordinate the sisters’ for a sibling image ( I’m going back for that once Sara is holding up her head!) we couldn’t leave Loren out!

Sneak Peek: Panopalis Family| Halifax Child and Family Photographer

We have been looking forward to this day ever since Tina gifted her brother and family a session!

It was a chilly morning at Point Pleasant, but Dimitri, Tina, Thomas and Lilly were up for it!

Thomas LOVED his new wagon….in fact, we could barely pry it from his hands! He was so proud.

Little Lilly was the sweetest, and so agreeable…..can you believe how much she looks like her cousin Dimitra ?!?!

If someone is ever able to bottle Dimitri’s energy and enthusiasm for all things, they will be a very wealthy individual….and Tina is the absolute easiest person ever to chat with.

I had to chuckle when she asked, “Should we get one of just the two of us?”   Yes. Yes you should. The two of you should be in front of the camera whenever possible.

And please……more babies. Lots of them. Look how cute they turn out.

UC Baby Display | Halifax Maternity and Newborn Photographer

I had the opportunity to hang my UC Baby 3D Ultrasound display last week, and just realized that I hadn’t blogged with the photo!!

The photo quality isn’t the greatest, but I think it looks fantastic in person, and am really proud of it. There are also several smaller framed pieces throughout the waiting room.

The gallery wrap over the chair is 30″x30″ and the larger piece above the sofa is 30″x40″

If you have  a UC Baby 3D Untrasound appointment scheduled, or know someone who does…..don’t forget to ask for my special discounted session!!!

You can get to the UC Baby website by clicking the logo at the bottom of my blog :)

Sneak Peek: Lockhart-White Family | Halifax Child and Family Photographer

I LOVE this little girl. She was one of the very first I ever photographed, and THE first that I had never met before.

Free spirited and strong willed and incredibly cute, little Miss Ally is a charmer and a natural explorer. It was a absolute treat to see her again this year.

Ryan and Steph, you two aren’t so bad either. ;)

Sneak Peek: Baby Nathalie | Halifax Child and Baby Photographer

If there is one age that typically strikes fear into the hearts of child photographers…..it is 3-4 months. It’s hit or miss as babe is no longer a newborn,  and not yet sitting on their own.

Not with little Miss Nathalie though……oh my, what a sweet bubbaloo this one was.

All cheeks and nothing but smiles!! I’m saving those ones for the gallery ;)

The whole family is packing up house and heading to Calgary. Dad is being deployed to the Persian Gulf for six months, and mom is going to spend the time “back home”.

Christine, what a treat is was to work with you today. Thank you for “getting it” and giving me free rein. It was like walking into an old friend’s house.

Safe travels to you all….and I look forward to your “Farewell to Nova Scotia” session in the spring!

Head of the Class | Nova Scotia High School Senior Photographer

Class of 1993.

It’s been 17 years since I graduated from Bridgetown Regional High School, and more than 10 since I set foot inside the doors.

Until yesterday.

It smells the same. It looks the same. Some of the teachers are the same. My dorky photo is still on the wall.

I instantly reverted to the age of 17, and was positive I would  get in trouble for “roaming the halls”.

I made the trip down to give a presentation to the Grade 11 and 12 students on “Senior Portraits” and drug invited Liam Hennessey along for the ride. (Good thing too, cuz you never know when an expert stick man drawing is needed!)

We spoke to a small, but interested, group about everything from composition and exposure to our photography backgrounds.

And then…….then it was time to do what we do. The cameras came out, and the good times rolled.

Thanks to “the girls” for being so willing…you were the highlight of our day….thank you for not calling me Ms. Shields….and thank you for not rolling your eyes when I called you “kids” !

Big thanks to Lori Whitman-Price (Art teacher and friend extraordinare,  so obviously loved by all her kids), staff and students, all of whom were so welcoming.

GO TROJANS!
