Heidi and John | Halifax Maternity Photographer

I have known John and Heidi for 7 1/2 years now…..and was so thrilled they asked me to do their maternity photos. They have always been so gracious about my photography, so it was a real treat to share a little bit of it with them. I was just saying the other day, to a mutual friend, that you will not find two more genuine, sincere,  nice people. When John and Heidi ask how you are, they really mean it. You always feel that they are truly interested in what you have to say, and unfortunately that is an often lost quality.

Friends, it was a real pleasure today and I can not wait to meet and photograph your little man. You joked that you may ask me for some parenting advice. No need. You are fully equipped with an abundance of  love and caring. You are quick to laugh, and slow to anger. I can not think of two people more qualified, more deserving, or more ready to bring new life into this world.

Yummy Album-y Goodness |Halifax Portrait Photographer

I love taking photographs…..but I will often tell my clients that my favorite part is seeing their faces when they get the final product.  Nothing gets a better reaction than the custom flushmount albums, nothing.

The first one I ever gave, invoked tears. The second, same. And so on and so on. I have been fortunate enough to sell them on blind faith from my clients. They believed me when I told them how fantastic they were. They trusted I was telling the truth when I said what a great showcase they would be for their memories. Yet still, everytime,  the response has been surprise. Surprise at the quality, the feel, the smell, the texture. “They’re so much better than I was already expecting!”

My point in all of this, (and yes, I do have a point!) is that I now have a beautiful flushmount sample to show clients before they place their orders.

The album you see here is a panoramic 16×6 album, but is also offered in 8×8 and 10×10 square.

Click | Halifax Maternity Photographer

That’s what has to happen. You have to click. And boy, did we.

Tracey contacted me a few weeks ago, wanting to book a special maternity session as a surprise for her husband Peter. Peter is a member of Canada’s finest, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and they have been stationed up North…..way North…..Gjoa Haven,Nunavut to exact! My father, grandfather and great uncles were all RCMP members, and I even began the recruitment process myself, before fate stepped in.

Long story short,we may as well have been old friends. We had an instant comfort with each other and I think it really shows in the images.

I know I told you a million times during the session Tracey, but seriously, you look freakin’ fantastic.

And, Peter………….surprise! I hope you like.

UC Baby Display | Halifax Maternity and Newborn Photographer

I had the opportunity to hang my UC Baby 3D Ultrasound display last week, and just realized that I hadn’t blogged with the photo!!

The photo quality isn’t the greatest, but I think it looks fantastic in person, and am really proud of it. There are also several smaller framed pieces throughout the waiting room.

The gallery wrap over the chair is 30″x30″ and the larger piece above the sofa is 30″x40″

UC Baby 3D Ultrasound Clinic | Halifax Maternity & Newborn Photographer

I was absolutely thrilled and honored when the UC Baby 3D Ultrasound Clinic asked if I would be a feature photographer, and display my maternity and newborn work in their new Bedford location.

The patient lounge/reception area is perfect backdrop for my beautiful clients, and hopefully an excellent avenue for reaching out to future clients!

Two GINORMOUS canvases are en route, and will be hung as soon as they arrive, but this evening I was in and hung a small interim display using the images you see above.

Congratulations to Nicole and Angela on the new franchise!  I wish you good luck and good vibes for your big opening day tomorrow!!

I had the great pleasure of capturing some images for Jenn and Andrew (and her perfect belly!) with only three weeks before their little arrival. I got to try out a new pose, and wowza, I think we nailed it guys!
